We are starting a Composer Study

Last week we began A Young Scholar's Guide to Composers.

So far we have studied about Ancient Music in the Middle Ages, Music in the Renaissance, and the Baroque Period.

We are about to start on our first composer, Antonio Vivaldi.

We are loving it so far. It is not boring like I thought it would be. lol

We are not that far into it yet, so there is not too much for me to share, but next week I will have a better idea of how it all works.

I do really like the fact that this is from a Christian perspective, and that they were very careful of the composers chosen.

I think it is going to be great!

Martin Luther: b. 1483-1546: "I am very much afraid that schools will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt."
