Something New in the Mail - Learning Dynamics!

I am super excited! Today we got the Learning Dynamics reading program in the mail. I haven't read the manual yet, but I will tonight. I did unpack it though.

The whole program fits in this small box. I will admit that it is smaller than I expected but after opening it and seeing everything in it, it does not seem that small anymore.

It has several sets of flashcards, punch outs and an alphabet CD.

All of that fits inside this small box.

It has a lesson manual for the parent.

And a student manual as well.

It comes with 4 sets of books that get progressively more complex. There are 50 books total.

All of the books and the manuals plus the box of flashcards fit inside this box.

Everything is all tidy in this small box that doesn't take up much space. I'm actually excited about that. It seems so simple. It seems like the least complicated reading program I have ever seen! I will keep you updated, and keep an eye out for my review!

Nothing by Natalee Creech - WorthyKids, an imprint of Hachette Book Group/ TOS Review

WorthyKids, an imprint of  Hachette Book Group sent us the cutest book in the mail about a month ago called Nothing. Nothing by Natalee Creech is an adorable book that shows children that nothing can separate us from Gods love.

This book is so adorable I can't even tell you. Brently literally laughs the whole way through every time we read this book. Each page is a different "what if" scenario asking what if  this happened, would that separate me from God's love?

The pages are beautifully illustrated and really capture children's attention.

The goat on the mountain gets my son every time.

My son cracks up at the squirrels flying through the air.

He thinks the mousetronaut and the catronaut are hilarious! After reading this book Brently asked me if Jesus was in Outer space! :) Kind Of!!

I am very glad that we received this book to review. It is such a wonderful book to sit down together and laugh, but to also learn a great lesson that no matter where we go or what we do, even if we mess up, that God still loves us.

The book itself is beautiful. It is hardback and very sturdy. The pages are thick and colorful. I just love how they implemented silly things throughout the book so that it will really captures the child's attention. I think that is an ingenious idea. My son will want to read this over and over because it is so funny, and that means he will be hearing the moral of the story over and over as well.

I highly encourage you to bring this book into your home. It is so good! I love books that teach great moral or biblical lessons within a good story that children really want to hear.

This book is geared toward children ages 4-7 but I think children older and younger will love it as well.

Here is a little video of Brently "reading" this book.

I also really like what Worthy Kids Publishing stands for.

Makeup Monday / Four Looks One Palette / Pur Festival Palette

I have been wanting to do a five looks one palette series, but I only ended up doing four last week with this palette. I think I will do 3 to five, depending on the palette.

After using this palette several times last week I find that I like this palette a lot more than I thought I would. This pink is the best hot pink that I have in all of my collection. The purple is a unique shade as well. I swatched all of my other purples and none were this exact shade. The rest of the shades are neutral, but they are still fairly unique. I do have lot's of other browns and bronzy colors but swatching them next to each other they are still slightly different in shade. I would keep this palette for the two pops of color and the pressed glitters alone. The glitters are very nice and they stick to the eye very well without any glitter glue!

Here are a few of the different looks that I did with this palette. There are still a couple more that I wanted to do using the pink glitter, but you can still get an idea of how useful and fun this palette really is.
One day I will get a better phone. All of these looks were so much brighter and prettier in person.

I had a lot of fun with this palette. This one will definitely be staying in my collection.

Makeup Monday

OK, I know today is not Monday, but I want to start a Makeup Monday weekly post.
I have been thinking about taking one of my palettes each week and doing a different eye look with it each day of the week, or at least 5 days.

I recently counted all of my palettes and I have 19, but a few of them are small palettes. To some, 19 seems like a lot, and to others that's hardly any at all. I have already given some away and tried to keep only the ones I really wanted.

Yes, I love eye shadow palettes. They are my weakness. I am trying to be more careful on what I buy, as a lot of palettes are very similar to ones that I may already have. I am definitely trying to be more picky.

One thing I noticed though was that I don't get as much use out of all of my palettes as I would like.
I want to take one palette each week and see all of the different looks that I can come up with. As I am doing this, I feel like this will help me to decide if this is a palette that I truly love and need to keep, or if this is one that I could pass on to a friend or family member.

These are all of my current palettes. ( I do happen to have a few more on the way, but I got them on a big sale! lol)

I decided to start with the Pur Festival palette as I just got this in my last months Boxycharm. If you are interested in signing up for Boxycharm you can use my link here

I love Boxycharm. It is only $21 a month and you always get over $100 worth of makeup and skin care!

Anyhow, I am going to start with the Pur Festival palette. I have already done two looks with it, and I am loving this palette way more than I thought I would.

I did this orangey bronze look. I wish I had a better camera because this looks so much better in person. All of this eye looks I've done look way better in person...But I loved this look. It is a great neutral look, but not as plain.

Today I did a brown/purple look. It has purple in it but it is not wild or crazy. It is still a very wearable look.

Two very different looks from the same palette. I can't wait to do more! This palette has pressed glitters in it as well, so at least one of my looks will have glitter. I can already tell that I could do way more than 5 looks with this palette. This is a great palette. I will have all of the looks in one post on Monday.

See you Monday!

PS...If there is a particular palette that you would like to see next, let me know!
