As most of you know, I have been a homeschool mom for a long time. My middle son has been in public school for the last 4 years due to life circumstances. I am very happy to tell you though, that he is coming back home this year! We are embarking on a new adventure in homeschooling however. We are going through a charter school. Since he is in high school now, and this was the only way his dad would agree to homeschool, this is what we are doing.
We have not officially started yet, but it is not as bad as I thought it may be. We have a certain degree of freedom of choice in curriculum. He is going to be in 4H, and that counts as an elective. He will get work credits for high school for working. He has his own business walking dogs.
We are able to take the Student Writing Intensive and use Teaching Textbooks, which I am beyond thrilled about.
It will be a new adventures, but I am looking forward to my son being home again.
Side note: He is such a help and blessing to me as I have such a hard time doing, well, pretty much anything since my accident. It has been very, very rough. But I am determined to still provide my children with the best education that I can, from home again! Thank you Jesus!!!
Have any of you ever used a charter school? What were your experiences?
