Have you heard of Reading Eggs or Math Seeds? Last year I was lucky enough to have been able to review the Reading Eggs and Math Seeds online programs. We LOVED them! I wrote a very detailed review, so I highly encourage you to read it so you can see if it is something your kiddos would like. I know it will be though!
After I reviewed the online program I was blessed to be given one of their new Reading Workbooks to review. Today I am extra blessed to be able to bring you a review of one of their Math Workbooks too! Brently has been using the 200 Essential Math Skills for Kindergarten Workbook.
If you read my previous reviews you will know that we love all things Reading Eggs and Math Seeds.
This workbook is an extension of the online program. It incorporates the same characters, such as Mango the monkey, which is my son's favorite! You do not have to use the online program to use this workbook, but I highly suggest that you do. It is so cute and your children will have a blast learning.
That was my son last year using the program.
Anyhow, back to the workbook. This 260 page workbook takes your child through all of the skills they need to learn in Kindergarten. Your child will learn their numbers, how to count, shapes, colors, more, fewer, long and short, patterns, number lines, adding, capacity, days of the week, subtraction and more!
We averaged 3 pages a week, so we got through page 16. Here are some additional pictures of future lessons though so you can see what all the workbook has to offer.
The workbook has periodic quizzes and reviews as well. It is really bright and colorful and something that kids find appealing. It goes along perfectly with the online program. At the end of each lesson it has a place to check off the things you learned and to write down what hatched in the online portion. Like I said before you don't have to use the online program but they go so well together. I think it makes a great curriculum. That is what I am actually doing this year. We are using Reading Eggs and Math Seeds along with both the Reading and Math workbooks.
The only thing that I do not like about these workbooks is that they are not perforated. It gets hard to write in the book with it being so thick. I want to be able to tear the pages out easily. However, I simply took the cover and spine off so that I could tear the pages out, but I would prefer to not have to do that. Other than that, they are wonderful!
If you are interested in the Reading Eggs program you can get a FREE 4 WEEK SUBSCRIPTION HERE. This link and the 4 weeks is for my readers only! You normally only get a free 2 week trial. So go ahead and try the program out. I know you will love it!
I am not the only one who reviewed these workbooks. My fellow Crew Mates also reviewed these and we all reviewed different books for different grades, so please go check those out as well.
