Alphabet Hopscotch!

A FUN WAY TO LEARN THE ALPHABET!

I like to try to think of fun ways to teach my kids anything we learn. My niece and my son are learning their letters. There were a few that my niece seemed to have trouble remembering so I had the idea to make a fun hopscotch game!

I wrote four letters on to card stock and taped them on to the floor. I made two of each letter so that the kids would not be pushing each other and fighting over who got to it first.

I played the game with the kids a few different ways. I played with them both playing and hollered out a letter and they both jumped to the letter I said.

I had them take turns and had them find the letter that I called out. They also took turns telling each other what letters to find.

I also told the to hop on a letter and then asked them to tell me what letter they were on. We also played this musical chairs style.

The kids love this game, and it is super fun, and they don't even realize they are learning.

I suggest only putting out a few at a time if they are just learning all of their letters so that they don't get overwhelmed.

You could eventually put the entire alphabet.

I hope you like this idea. I'm not sure if it's an idea that's out there already or not, but I hadn't heard of it, and just thought it would be a great idea!

Let me know if you try this out!!

What a terrific idea! Most all children are kinesthetic learners - I'm sure this helps them retain, and have fun at the same time!
