The Crafty Classroom Pattern Block Activity Pack / TOS Review

The Crafty Classroom is a Christian Based family business that provides fun, interactive and low prep teaching resources for homeschool families. The owner, Valerie McClintick, has homeschooled her own four children for over 12 years. She has developed a wonderful line of Pre-K to 5th grade curriculum in a wide range of subject matter. For the purposes of this review, we were allowed to choose what curriculum we would like to use. I chose the Pattern Block Activity Pack

I really had a hard time choosing between all of the products. She has an adorable Bible ABC letter of the week notebook as well as a traditional letter of the week program. She has a number of the week curriculum too. She has an interactive math curriculum kit that I am also really interested in. There are a ton more, you will just have to go to her website and them all out.

All of her curriculum kits are downloadable PDF files. I ended up choosing the Pattern Block Activity Pack because we already had the pattern blocks and because after looking through sample pages of the activity pack I realized that this pack actually covered a variety of topics. With this 700+ pages activity pack your child can learn their colors, numbers, letters, shapes, how to add, subtract, graph and more. I thought this looked really cool!

As I mentioned before, there are over 700 pages in this activity pack. I printed out the numbers and letters because that is what we are learning right now. These activities are great reinforcement. I printed the pages onto card stock and placed them in page protectors inside of a hard plastic binder.

Another thing that I really liked was the fact that it had three different learning levels.

As you can see in the following pictures, your child starts out with being able to see the shapes and colors, then progresses to shape only, and finally with just an outline of the image.

As your child progresses, you can use more activity pages. You and/or your child, depending on age and writing ability, can count how many of each shape it took you to build a particular pattern and turn it into a math lesson. This is another great reason to place your pages in page protectors. You can use a dry erase marker right over the top!

I figure that I can change out the pages based on what we are learning or what he has already learned. This will grow with him for a long time.

This is such a fun way for your child to learn preschool concepts.

Brently loves it. His 7 year old friend from next door likes to come over and play pattern blocks with him too, so it's not just for preschool!

I had not heard of the Crafty Classroom before this review opportunity came up. There are definitely some other activity packs that I am interested in for sure. They even have an activity pack for the Periodic Table of the Elements! I highly encourage you to head on over to the website and see what they have to offer your child.

As I mentioned earlier, all packs are downloadable. This is perfect if you have more than one child in similar age groups in your home. Some of the pages are printed in color, but a lot of them are also in black and white. You can either use the draft setting to save on ink, or you can invest in Instant Ink. I purchased an HP printer that is Instant Ink compatible and it is a life saver. I pay $4.95 a month and can print 100 pages. It doesn't matter if they are all color or even 8x10 photos printed on photo paper, it's still the same price. There is a higher and lower monthly plan as well. I highly recommend this if you are going to be printing a lot.

I am not the only one who reviewed products from the Crafty Classroom. My fellow Crew Mates also reviewed products of their choice, so head on over to the Crew Review Blog and see what other reviewers are saying!

I hope you find something that you and your family truly love!

Dinosaur Salt Box

We were learning about texture one day and salt was used to teach "grainy." Brently wanted to keep playing with it after the lesson was over and I recalled someone making a sort of sand box for their child to play with, so I made this for Brently. He loves it!

Learning to Read With Learning Dynamics Reading Program

The Learning Dynamics Reading Program by Learning Dynamics is a simple, yet very effective reading program that actually works!
I was given the opportunity to review this and we absolutely love it.
Your child will be singing an alphabet song every day and learning new letter songs with each lesson. This program is very easy to use. Everything is laid out for you as the parent, and there is no prep time!
You are supposed to use this program 15 to 20 minutes per day, three times a week. This is something that I can actually stick to!
The site says that your child will be reading his/her first book in 4 weeks! I honestly do think that is possible, especially if your child is already familiar with letter sounds. For us, we are right on that edge! There a a few letter sound combinations that he doesn't quite have down, but he IS actually reading some words already!!
I highly recommend this program to you. OH, and you can use After Pay for this as well. If you are not familiar with After Pay, it breaks your payments up into 4 equal payments, one every two weeks. I love After Pay.
You can find this program at 4weekstoread.com
. Also, don't forget to head over to the Homeschool Review Crew to read more reviews!

I also made a lengthy, very detailed review of this program, including a full lesson.
