I've never been to a convention but have wanted to go. It's just never been a thing that has been feasible.
I spent way too much the first year on school. I tried one curriculum to find that it was horrid for us and we dropped it less than 3/4 of the way thru the year. I'm trying to be more determined with what I choose based on what I want my kids to learn and how I want them to be in the end (and a wee bit of what they want thrown in lol) and conventions would definitely mess with that.
I can totally relate with you on the TOS Crew being a BLESSING. Although there were some products we had to make ourselves use, it's given us resources that we would never have had otherwise.
And because I use mostly Ambleside Online (with a few substitutes tossed in), I have my 'list' of things to get and I try not to go off on tangents (or to get things because they are new or I want them). I don't have experience with lapbooks or unit studies unfortunately. SO, I guess I've no advice!
Hope you have a great day though :)Blossom Barden (NorthLaurel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07809939585303395939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1955668557789809150.post-74295732617933718412011-04-26T12:01:20.524-05:002011-04-26T12:01:20.524-05:00I definitely struggle with this as well.
It see...I definitely struggle with this as well.

It seems like online or computer stuff is so much harder to keep track of and remember what there is.

I just have to keep telling myself, that my children are not missing out on anything they need.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01770518462873397348noreply@blogger.com
